✨Mastering the Cloud: AWS 101 Workshop Recap 🌥️

On a bright Saturday, June 8, 2024, tech enthusiasts gathered at Victoria University City Tower for an intensive AWS 101 Workshop. From 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, participants, ranging from students eager to grasp cloud fundamentals to seasoned professionals, embarked on a comprehensive dive into Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The day began with introductions and a foundational session on cloud computing essentials led by Fahad Mustafa, focusing on Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Mahmoud Ismail then guided attendees through the AWS account setup, preparing them for the interactive labs. The EC2 Hands-On Lab saw participants launch, configure, and customize a Linux web server, followed by a networking break.

The workshop continued with an AWS Storage Overview and an S3 Lab Experience, where attendees created and managed S3 buckets, and implemented versioning, and lifecycle management. After a refreshing lunch, the focus shifted to networking in AWS, covering VPCs, security, load balancing, and connectivity options. Participants then engaged in a VPC Lab Session, creating VPCs, subnets, routing tables, and security groups.

The workshop concluded with a wrap-up, highlighting additional resources and future learning paths. Special thanks to Fahad Mustafa and Mahmoud Ismail for their insightful presentations.
Members of the Muslims in Tech community enjoyed special pricing, and others were encouraged to join at muslimsintech.org/join. Future opportunities await those eager to enhance their skills and network with industry experts. Stay connected, keep learning, and look forward to our next event!
